1. What’s the main problem your startup is solving, and how are you tackling it in a way that stands out?
Lodestone was built to help you effectively track, select and evangelize the choices you want to make when it comes to what to build next for your product or business. There are three distinct types of people that face this particular problem with a high degree of frequency and magnitude: product managers, product leaders, and startup founders. Lodestone means to tackle these challenges for these users specifically. The key way we stand out from others in this space is recognizing the need for these particular people to have to share the plans they come up with and providing them with the ability to present their complex plans with simplicity and practicality. No more screen sharing and frantic application navigation just to get your point across; all of the work done in Lodestone can be exported into presentation slides with one click.
2. How did your product come to life, and what makes it different from what’s already out there?
I’ve been in the product management space for 20 years. During that time, I witnessed firsthand the challenges that many of my team members as well as industry colleagues faced in trying to organize and evangelize the right set of plans. I decided to finally do something about it and set out to build a set of tools that would do the things I longed for other product management software platforms to do. Lodestone is unique in that it is designed not only for individual product managers, but also for product leaders and startup founders. We also place a significant emphasis on helping the user share their plans through compelling narratives in slide decks in order to give them the best chances at achieving organizational alignment.
3. Can you share a key lesson or challenge you’ve faced on your entrepreneurial journey and how did you work through it?
One of the biggest challenges that I have faced, and still am facing if I’m to be honest, is managing the transition from presenting Lodestone to prospective customers to presenting Lodestone to prospective investors. This requires a different way of speaking about the company and the problem space that we are in. It’s something that I’m very much looking forward to getting better at!
4. What are you most excited to learn or experience during the L-SPARK Accelerator?
I am most looking forward to the mentorship that we will be receiving at Lodestone, as we are really focused on accelerating forward and looking to nail the growth engine that is so crucial to scaling a business.
5. What’s been your biggest milestone so far, and how has it shaped where you’re headed?
Our biggest milestone to date has to be acceptance into the L-Spark program. We are still quite early on in our journey but getting into this program has provided us with a tremendous boost of enthusiasm and momentum.
As Lodestone embarks on its journey through the L-SPARK Accelerator, the team is focused on fueling their growth and sharpening their platform to serve the product management community even better. Follow along as Lodestone leverages L-SPARK’s ecosystem and mentorship to accelerate toward new heights, unlocking even greater possibilities for product leaders everywhere. Don’t miss your chance to meet the brain behind Lodestone this November 13th – 14th at SAAS North Conference.
