1. What’s the main problem your startup is solving, and how are you tackling it in a way that stands out?

The main problem CyberSSS is solving is the overwhelming volume of vulnerabilities that organizations face, coupled with delayed remediation due to competing priorities and fragmented security efforts from using too many disconnected tools. This challenge leads to slow response times and increased exposure to cyber threats.

2. How did your product come to life, and what makes it different from what’s already out there?

I envisioned a solution that would simplify and streamline vulnerability management for companies, combining the essential features of multiple tools into a single, unified platform. CyberSSS was built to be the platform that I wished I had during my years on the front lines, addressing the gaps and inefficiencies I encountered firsthand.

CyberSSS emerged from a desire to make vulnerability management more effective, efficient, and user-friendly. It stands out by offering an all-in-one solution that integrates seamlessly with existing tools, automates time-consuming processes, and delivers AI-powered insights—all while simplifying the management of vulnerabilities. This makes it an ideal choice for companies looking to stay ahead of cyber threats and optimize their security efforts.

3. Can you share a key lesson or challenge you’ve faced on your entrepreneurial journey and how did you work through it?

One of the most significant personal challenges I faced on my entrepreneurial journey with CyberSSS was learning to navigate uncertainty and self-doubt—especially in the early days when things were unclear and the stakes felt incredibly high. Shifting from a corporate cybersecurity role where the path is often defined, to building my own company, where every decision impacts the future of the business, was a huge adjustment.

The Challenge:

In the corporate world, I had established a reputation and track record—people trusted my judgment, and I had a clear structure and resources at my disposal. But as an entrepreneur, I suddenly found myself in a space where every decision felt like it carried significant weight. There were moments where I questioned whether I could build something that truly stood out among the crowded landscape of cybersecurity tools.

I also found myself dealing with the isolation that comes with being a founder—feeling like I needed to have all the answers for the team, even when I wasn’t sure of them myself. It was difficult to admit when I didn’t know something or when I felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of responsibility.

How I Worked Through It:

  1. Leaning on a Mentor Network: One of the first things I did was to build a network of mentors and advisors—people who had been through the startup journey themselves. Their insights helped me reframe my challenges as a normal part of building a business. They reminded me that every founder has faced doubts, and that resilience comes from moving forward despite them.
  2. Adopting a Growth Mindset: I learned to shift from a perfectionist mindset to a growth mindset. Instead of expecting myself to get everything right the first time, I focused on learning from every experience, whether it was a success or a failure. This helped me to let go of the fear of making mistakes and allowed me to treat setbacks as learning opportunities.
  3. Being Transparent with the Team: I realized that I didn’t have to bear the burden of uncertainty alone. By being transparent with my team about challenges and openly discussing decisions, I found that they were more engaged and committed to finding solutions together. This shift helped to build a culture of trust and collaboration, where we could tackle issues as a unified team rather than me feeling like I had to shoulder everything myself.
  4. Self-Care and Mental Well-Being: Entrepreneurship can be all-consuming, and there were times when I felt close to burnout. I had to remind myself that taking time off to recharge was not a sign of weakness but a necessity for sustained performance. I made it a point to set aside time for activities that cleared my mind, like running or spending time with family, which helped me return to work with a clearer perspective.
  5. Focusing on the ‘Why’: When self-doubt crept in, I’d remind myself of why I started CyberSSS in the first place—to make vulnerability management easier and more effective for companies, based on everything I’d seen throughout my career. Reconnecting with that core mission gave me the strength to push through difficult times and helped me see the bigger picture beyond any short-term setbacks.

The Outcome:

This journey taught me that vulnerability is not a weakness; it’s a part of growth. By embracing uncertainty and being open about my challenges, I was able to transform self-doubt into determination. It’s made me a more resilient leader, better equipped to navigate the ups and downs of running a company.

The experience reinforced that building a successful startup is as much about personal growth as it is about business growth. It’s about having the courage to step into the unknown, trusting your instincts, and recognizing that you don’t have to do it all alone. These lessons have been invaluable in shaping both CyberSSS and myself as a founder.

4. What are you most excited to learn or experience during the L-SPARK Accelerator?

During the L-SPARK Accelerator, I am most excited to learn from industry experts and mentors who have successfully scaled their own SaaS companies. The opportunity to tap into their knowledge and experiences is invaluable, especially when it comes to refining our go-to-market strategy, navigating the fundraising process, and building strong relationships with potential investors.

I’m also looking forward to immersing myself in the startup ecosystem, where I can network with fellow founders, exchange ideas, and learn from their journeys. Being surrounded by a community of like-minded entrepreneurs offers a unique opportunity to gain fresh perspectives, understand different approaches to solving challenges, and discover new ways to drive growth for CyberSSS.

Additionally, I’m excited about the structured support that the program provides, particularly in scaling sales and marketing efforts. While CyberSSS has already gained traction, the accelerator’s focus on rapid growth can help us sharpen our focus, expand our market reach, and fine-tune our product positioning.

Ultimately, it’s about accelerating CyberSSS’s growth journey—taking what we’ve built so far and scaling it to new heights. I believe the L-SPARK Accelerator will be instrumental in helping us reach our next milestones, and I’m eager to make the most of every opportunity to learn, grow, and elevate both myself and the company.
